Trump endorses in GOP primary for Nevada attorney general

President Donald Trump has endorsed lawyer Adriana Guzmán Fralick in the Republican primary for Nevada attorney general, a significant development in a race defined by disputes over which candidate supports him more.
In a social media post on his Truth Social platform Tuesday, Trump said she "has the Courage and Wisdom to deliver strong results for the incredible people of her fantastic State and Nation." Guzmán Fralick, who has also been endorsed by Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo (R), thanked the president in a follow-up post on X and said "I will not let you down!"
The endorsement marks a significant blow to the campaign of Douglas County Commissioner Danny Tarkanian, the only other candidate in the race. Tarkanian, who is making his 10th bid for office since 2004, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Guzmán Fralick has her own law firm in Reno and has held numerous positions in state and local government, most recently serving as chair of the state's Cannabis Compliance Board, where she oversaw the industry's licensing and operations. She has only run for office once before, finishing third out of five candidates in a 2012 bid for the state board of education.
Although Trump's endorsement carries heavy weight in any race, it's especially notable in this case because of how much he has been mentioned during the primary.
Tarkanian's campaign has released multiple ads featuring footage of Trump complimenting him in a 2018 rally as having "incredible stamina, loyalty and friendship." Guzmán Fralick's campaign also has an ad out that says she "stands strong with President Trump."
A PAC supporting Guzmán Fralick also has an ad highlighting a post Tarkanian made on X in 2024. It linked to an article with the headline "Opinion: I hate Trump, but I'm glad he won." The article was written by a person who dislikes Trump's personality but is more concerned with the behavior on the left.
The ad calls Tarkanian a "Trump hater." He previously told The Indy that the attack "was a complete lie," and that, "I think the policies that he's had for our country have been great. I think they've made us much stronger."
Guzmán Fralick also previously told The Indy that "as far as what [Trump's] done, I support him."
The endorsement comes as Trump-backed candidates are on a hot streak. In Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton easily ousted Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) last week, and a Trump-endorsed candidate unseated one of the president's biggest Republican adversaries in Congress, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).
The winner of the primary will face off against either state Sen. Nicole Cannizzaro (D-Las Vegas) or Treasurer Zach Conine (D), who are running in the Democratic primary for the open seat.
This story was updated at 6:04 p.m. on 6/2/2026 to add Guzmán Fralick's reaction to the endorsement.
