With two weeks left in session, Assembly GOP launches digital ad campaign

There’s less than two weeks to go before the end of the 120-day legislative session, but Assembly Republicans are launching a digital ad campaign designed to introduce newer legislators to a broader audience.
The glossy, professionally shot two-minute video begins airing on Tuesday and prominently features Assembly Republican leader Paul Anderson and two moderate freshmen legislators — Jill Tolles and Keith Pickard.
The video, which intercuts legislator interviews with shots of western paraphernalia and a legislative basketball game (that Democrats won 30-24), is the first in a planned series of videos highlighting members of the 15-member caucus, with plans to promote it through digital ads and through social media.
Much of the video focuses on the broad policy goals outlined in the caucus's “Battle Born Priorities,” but several legislators get slightly more specific. Tolles mentions standing up and supporting the “value of women,” a veiled reference to her vote as the only Assembly Republican to support a measure ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
A total of seven Assembly Republicans are featured in the video, including more conservative freshmen Al Kramer and Lisa Krasner as well as legislative veterans John Hambrick and James Oscarson. Other caucus members will be featured in future digital ads.
