There have been more than 1,200 bill draft requests this session, and while some of them have drawn impassioned testimony and heated debate, others flew by almost unnoticed. From horse dentists to throwing bodily fluids at police officers, many bills address very specific problems a state may face.

We have gone through hundreds of bill draft requests to find some of the more interesting bills — and the reasons they were drafted. Not all of these lower-profile bills will make it to the governor's desk. Some will die — or have already died — but they're examples of under-the-radar bills introduced every legislative session.
