About 8.8 percent of people who received an abortion in Nevada in 2024 had traveled from out of state. That’s a 47.4 percent drop in travel compared with 2023. 

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, more states adopted abortion restrictions, prompting more people to travel for procedures that were disallowed in their home state.

Although the number of people traveling to other states for abortions dropped by 9 percent from 2023 to 2024, that number was still nearly twice what it was in 2020, before a Supreme Court ruling struck down the constitutional right to an abortion. 

Macy Haverda, executive director of Wild West Access Fund of Nevada, told The Nevada Independent her organization, which defrays costs for people seeking abortions, mostly sees clients from Utah and Arizona, but that travel rates from Arizona decreased when a judge ruled against a 15-week abortion ban.
