FACT BRIEF

Are the majority of Sam Brown’s donations from Nevada?

By Eric Neugeboren on 03/22/2024

NO

About 38 percent of the money that individuals donated to Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Sam Brown’s campaign originated in Nevada.

Nevadans gave more than $651,000 to Brown’s campaign last year out of roughly $1.72 million in individual contributions, according to Federal Elections Commission data.

Brown, the front-runner to secure the GOP nomination in the Senate race, also received about 1,000 donations from Nevadans out of roughly 6,600 contributions he received from individuals nationwide.

Brown has the highest share of unique Nevada donors among the top Senate candidates. One-fourth of his donors are from Nevada, higher than Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV), former Nevada Assemblyman Jim Marchant and former U.S. Ambassador to Iceland Jeff Gunter. Two long-shot GOP candidates — Stephanie Phillips and Tony Grady — have the largest share of Nevada donors.
