The race to replace termed-out Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman may be the most competitive local government contest in the state this cycle, and will help define the destiny of the largest city in Nevada after a quarter century under the leadership of Goodman and her husband, Oscar.

We’re digging in on the backgrounds and policy platforms of the three biggest spenders at a forum Wednesday evening as voters start weighing in during the primary. Here’s how to participate:

What: An IndyTalks forum with top-fundraising Las Vegas mayoral candidates moderated by Nevada Independent CEO and Editor Jon Ralston

Who: Former Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NV), Las Vegas City Councilman Cedric Crear and Las Vegas City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman

When: Wednesday, May 15. Happy hour with a cash bar begins at 5:15 p.m. Main event doors open at 6:15 p.m. Forum runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Where: Fontainebleau Las Vegas, 2777 South Las Vegas Blvd.
Tickets are required; all tickets must be reserved in the name of the guest and all guests must present ID at check-in. As of 5:30 p.m. on May 15, tickets are sold out.

If you can’t attend: KSNV Channel 3 in Las Vegas will broadcast the event live on TV starting at 6:30 p.m. Look for live and post-event coverage at thenevadaindependent.com and on our social media channels.
