Yes.
Monthly premiums for Nevadans purchasing health insurance through the state’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace will increase by $76 on average if enhanced tax credits expire, state data shows.
The enhanced credits, a pandemic-era effort under President Joe Biden, increased existing subsidies and expanded eligibility to those whose income exceeds 400% of federal poverty levels (around $130,000 annually for a family of four).
While the enhanced subsidies expire Jan. 1, 2026, the ACA’s original subsidies will remain.
In 2025, 87% of the 110,000 Nevadans enrolled through Nevada Health Link received enhanced subsidies.
The vast majority of Nevada’s enrollees also receive original subsidies.
Six percent of enrollees receive the enhanced subsidies only. Those consumers will see their monthly premiums increase by $267 on average.
The federal government shut down Oct. 1 after Democrats refused to fund the federal government without extending the enhanced subsidies.
