Warren goes up with first television ad in Nevada, will air in Spanish
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is going up on Monday with her first television ad in Nevada, which is also her first Spanish-language ad in the state.
The 30-second spot, titled "Elizabeth Warren es una luchadora" or "Elizabeth Warren is a fighter," gestures at the broad contours of the senator's background, including her work spearheading the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau after the recession. The ad touts that she "fights for working people because she came from a family that struggled.
The spot, which comes a little less than a month before Nevada's Feb. 22 Democratic presidential caucus, also frames her as someone who can defeat President Donald Trump and "call out … his corruption and deceit."
"She's a fighter who will beat Donald Trump," the narrator says in Spanish. "And when the dust settles, she will fight like hell to make this a country that works for everyone."
The ad, which will run statewide on broadcast and cable, is backed by the campaign's previously announced eight-figure digital and TV advertising campaign in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Former Vice President Joe Biden went up with his first television ad in Nevada in October, followed by former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg in December. Billionaire Tom Steyer has been consistently running ads in the Silver State since announcing his campaign last summer.
