An office servers manager in the recorder’s office, Berry Burress has worked for the department for 14 years. Originally from Chicago, she started as a part-time employee. She is also suing recorder Debbie Conway over alleged workplace discrimination.

Young, a retired police detective, says his priorities if elected are preventing deed fraud, discouraging squatters and offering immediate access to the office's services, including records access and filings.

Rana said he wanted to increase community outreach and involvement to make sure that records in Clark County were more accessible. He also said he wanted to modernize the office and improve the online services available to residents.

M.J. Ivy, who has served various short-term government roles, has recently come under fire for his past criminal record, which include robbery charges, though these records have been sealed. The Review-Journal also reported that he threatened a man who was putting up campaign signs in Henderson.

Velazquez, who has years of real estate administrative experience, is running to improve accountability and efficiency in the department. As a private administrator, he has been suspended by a judge from more than two dozen real estate cases for using his position to benefit himself, though he is appealing the case, which is pending.
