YES
Nevada’s union membership rate was 18th in the nation in 2022 and has historically been at or above the U.S. average, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Nevada had about 146,000 union members among its 1.5 million wage and salary workers in 2022 — making up 11.3 percent of the workforce, compared with 12.2 percent in 2021.
Nationwide, union members accounted for 10.1 percent of wage and salary workers in 2022. Hawaii had the highest percentage of unionized workers at 21 percent, while South Carolina had the lowest percentage at 1.7 percent.
Nevada’s union membership rates have been declining since 2020. Nevada is also a right-to-work state, which prohibits union membership as a condition of employment.
The Culinary Union alone has about 60,000 members who work in hospitality.
