Is the Nevada Attorney General investigating Ticketmaster over the Taylor Swift concert ticket controversy?
YES
The Nevada Attorney General's Office is investigating Ticketmaster for “alleged deceptive or unfair trade practices” after fans who were given pre-sale codes and tried to secure tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour were met with delays and error messages that Ticketmaster attributed to bots and unprecedented demand.
When prompted by a question on the matter in a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declined to comment on the potential investigation but stated that “lack of competition leads to higher prices and worse service” and that President Joe Biden’s Executive Order 14036, issued in 2021, “establishes a whole-of-government effort to promote competition in the American economy” by encouraging stronger enforcement of antitrust law.
