Historically the nation's largest racial minority group of eligible voters, Black voters are expected to make up the third largest share of the electorate after being surpassed by Hispanic voters. They have had the second highest rates of voter turnout among all racial and ethnic groups and have been a strong and consistent voting bloc for the Democratic Party.
