Dr. S. L. Lee, who was in charge of the Nevada Board of Health in 1918, reported to the Legislature: “It is difficult to determine the date of the appearance of the first case” of Spanish influenza, but “it spread rapidly throughout the State until there was scarcely a village or hamlet that did not pay toll to it in human life.”
