Laxalt campaign launches new TV ad, calling him 'bright spirit of tomorrow's Nevada'

Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt is launching a positive, biographical ad as his campaign’s fifth major television advertisement of the 2018 general election.
Laxalt, the state’s attorney general, announced he would begin airing the 30-second ad entitled “Light” on Monday. The advertisement focuses on Laxalt’s background, including being raised by a single mother, not knowing his father, former New Mexico Sen. Pete Dominici, and overcoming alcohol addiction at a young age.
“Adam Laxalt joined the Navy, volunteered for Iraq,” the ad states. “Became the nation's youngest Attorney General. Protects vets, women. Everyone, regardless of party or place in life.”
Laxalt, the grandson of former Nevada Sen. Paul Laxalt, has focused heavily on his background during his run for governor, making it the focus of at least one of his campaign ads before the state’s primary election last month. He’s also been open about his past drinking problem in his teens, and says he has stayed sober since the age of 19.
His campaign has gone up with four ads, including one in Spanish, attacking his Democratic opponent Steve Sisolak over his time and votes on the Clark County Commission and for supporting the “radical left.”
Laxalt and Sisolak will face off in the November 6 general election to replace termed-out Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval.
