Gun violence. Wars. Tuition costs. Police brutality. 

These are just a few of the issues on the minds of youth that are likely to be brought up Tuesday night when Nevada Independent reporter Naoka Foreman and Vegas PBS host Amber Dixon engage families and young people at the College of Southern Nevada. 

The event is the second community listening session of the Nevada Democracy Project — an initiative focused on civic engagement and community conversations, produced by The Nevada Independent in partnership with Vegas PBS — that is focused on youth issues and election questions. 

We want to hear what keeps young people up at night and about the issues they want to be covered or brought back to leaders, while creating a space to ask about the current state of democracy and voting systems.

Tuesday’s community listening session, which will be livestreamed, will be held at CSN West Charleston Campus inside of the Student Union Ballrooms. Here’s what you need to know to join the wide-ranging conversation:
