The nation's largest pro-abortion rights advocacy group is endorsing Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen in the race to take on incumbent Republican Sen. Dean Heller, even as other major candidates consider jumping in the race as well.

Federal and state-based chapters of NARAL Pro Choice America announced their endorsement of Rosen on Tuesday, even as fellow Democratic House member Dina Titus continues to publicly mull a challenge to Heller as well. In a release, the group said they were endorsing Rosen because of her opposition to Republican efforts to replace the Affordable Care Act and because of her support for Planned Parenthood and Title X programs.

“NARAL members are proud to stand with Jacky Rosen as she continues her fight for women and families,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America in a statement. “The GOP’s latest healthcare scheme proves that we need a champion who will stand up for our rights and defend a woman’s access to basic healthcare, including birth control and abortion care.”

The endorsement is the latest establishment move to back Rosen, a political newcomer who won a close race over Republican Danny Tarkanian to take control of the state's competitive 3rd Congressional District seat.

Almost immediately after announcing the bid, Rosen received the support of Democrats including Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Rep. Ruben Kihuen and groups including EMILY’s List and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Former Nevada senator and longtime Democratic power broker Harry Reid also encouraged Rosen to get in the Senate race.

Titus, who represents Nevada’s 1st Congressional District and was endorsed by NARAL in 2016, recently released a poll showing her in a dead heat against Heller.
