Are Nevada businesses eligible for tariff refunds?
Yes.

A federal trade court ruled that businesses operating in Nevada are entitled to refunds for tariffs imposed under President Donald Trump.
In April 2025, Trump imposed tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, citing trade deficits, drugs and crime. In February 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court found that the policy was unconstitutional.
Nevada paid almost $970 million in tariffs between February to December 2025. The U.S. Court of International Trade states that "all importers of record" are "entitled to benefit." There are no plans to issue refunds to consumers.
The Penn Wharton Budget Model states that importers have 180 days after goods are "liquidated" to request refunds from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. As of May 22, companies have submitted applications for refunds totaling $85 billion.
Nevada Treasurer Zach Conine has pushed for refunds that his office could redistribute to Nevada consumers.
