Indy Congressional Tracker: Health care debate doesn't stall congressional action

Even as Republican dreams for an overhaul or repeal of the Affordable Care Act appeared to wilt throughout the week, members of Congress — including the six-member Nevada delegation — stayed busy casting dozens of votes and co-sponsoring multiple pieces of legislation.

Similar to last week, the four Nevada House representatives took around three dozen votes throughout the last week, while the state’s two senators took only a handful of votes centered on confirming nominations made by President Donald Trump.

Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Republican Sen. Dean Heller agreed on one nominee — Deputy Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan — while disagreeing on two other nominees made by the president.

Nevada’s House delegation similarly split on partisan lines, voting as a bloc on only five roll call votes out of 28 taken through the week. The three Nevada Democrats largely voted in lockstep, with Rep. Jacky Rosen breaking with her colleagues on opposing an amendment that would have required Alaska to reimburse the federal government more than $20 million for a failed transportation investment.

And delegation members attached their names to a wide swath of legislation as well, from increasing disclosure requirements for political spending to commemorative coins for the American Legion (descriptions of the bills come straight from Congress.gov).

Still clamoring for more details about what Nevada’s delegates did (or maybe didn’t) do in Washington, D.C.? Check out The Nevada Independent’s congressional vote tracker and other information below (Full version of the spreadsheet is available here):
