NRCC unveils ad focused on Horsford's career after Congress

Focus: Fourth Congressional District Democratic candidate Steven Horsford
Who’s paying for it: The National Republican Congressional Committee
Size of buy: $600,000
When it starts: Sept. 18
Where it’s running: Las Vegas
The gist: The ad focuses on Horsford’s career after his time serving in Congress for one term. It claims that he is “a sleazy politician turned Washington insider.” The ad cites newspaper articles on a fundraising plan he launched while a member of the Legislature that was criticized as a “pay to play scheme” and indicated, according to the Center for Public Integrity, that Horsford’s business after Congress represented South Sudan, which is “a corrupt regime whose forces raped and murdered civilians.” Since he left Congress, Horsford has run his own business, Resources Plus, which provides public relations and consulting on workforce development strategies.
