Sisolak's COVID-19 test comes back negative
Gov. Steve Sisolak’s COVID-19 test came back negative.
He was tested Tuesday after learning that an employee at the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in Carson City tested positive for the virus. Sisolak had visited DETR last week to thank employees for their work securing unemployment benefits for Nevada residents.
The employee who tested positive was not in the building during the governor’s visit. Sisolak also wore a face mask and practiced social distancing.
After learning about the possible exposure, the governor’s office canceled his planned press conference Tuesday evening. Instead, Sisolak released his remarks about the state entering Phase 2 of its reopening plan and did a phone conference call with reporters.
His office in Carson City has been cleaned, and he’s expected to return to work there Thursday.
