Giunchigliani eyes environmental votes in her new television ad featuring Red Rock

Gubernatorial candidate Chris Giunchigliani's second television ad brands her as the Democrat who would protect Nevada's environment.

The 30-second advertisement, which launched Monday in the Las Vegas and Reno markets, shows Giunchigliani riding in a helicopter over Red Rock National Conservation Area, as she describes her fight against allowing a development project near the beloved public land.

"As governor, I'll put the environment first — for them," she says, referring to children and future generations.

She also takes a shot at her primary opponent, Steve Sisolak, over his votes regarding the long-debated, controversial development project. The two Clark County commissioners have sparred over the project and what their votes meant before they announced their respective candidacies for governor.

The ad is part of a six-figure buy. Giunchigliani's first TV ad highlighted her education career and plans to boost public schools.
