Focus: Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Sisolak and his Republican opponent, Adam Laxalt

Who’s paying for it: Nevada Families First, an affiliate of the Democratic Governors Association

Size of buy: The group did not disclose, except to say it is “significant.”

When it starts: Oct. 22

Where it’s running: The group did not disclose.

The gist: A new 30-second ad tells viewers in Spanish that the next governor will affect their salary and benefits. It goes on to say Republican Adam Laxalt opposes raising the minimum wage and sued to prevent workers from claiming overtime pay — a reference to his successful lawsuit against an Obama administration rule that would have expanded overtime eligibility to 4 million additional workers.

The ad then switches gears to say Sisolak will create more job opportunities by expanding career and technical training programs. It closes by saying Sisolak values workers, so a vote for him would strengthen all of Nevada.
