Sisolak begins airing TV ads tomorrow in gubernatorial campaign
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Sisolak takes aim at President Trump in his first television ad, which starts airing Wednesday in the Reno and Las Vegas media markets.
The 30-second ad features Sisolak — a longtime Southern Nevada politician and chair of the Clark County Commission — vowing to stand up against the president’s policies that are “hurting Nevada families.”
“He wants to take health care away from 200,000 Nevadans. He wants to break up families by deporting Dreamers. He cares more about the NRA than you,” Sisolak says in the ad. “I’ll take on the NRA. I’ll take on big pharma. And I’ll take on Donald Trump.”
The ad, which will air on cable, broadcast and digital channels, is part of a six-figure buy for his campaign. It’s also the first television ad in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. Sisolak is running against his commission colleague, Chris Giunchigliani, in the Democratic primary.
Giunchigliani's campaign manager, Eric Hyers, responded to Sisolak's new ad by saying, "No amount of TV ads can erase Steve's A minus from the NRA. Steve needs to come clean on why the NRA gave him an A- and stop misleading voters."
It’s not the first TV ad in the gubernatorial race, though. State Treasurer Dan Schwartz, who’s running for governor against Attorney General Adam Laxalt in the Republican primary, launched a pair of TV ads earlier this month.
