State Sen. Scott Hammond will report raising more than $100,000 in the last three months of the year in his bid to win the Republican nomination for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District in June, ending the year with $69,598 on hand, his campaign said Wednesday morning.

Hammond, a Republican, received $100,835 in donations from October through December, including $2,500 contributions from Southwest Gas, NV Energy, Caesars Entertainment and Boyd Gaming. He also received $2,700 from the law firm Hutchison & Steffen, where Lieutenant Governor Mark Hutchison works, and $1,300 from former Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury.

It’s the most so far raised this quarter by a candidate in the crowded GOP primary for the 3rd District seat, which includes former Clark County Republican Party chair Dave McKeon, former television news reporter Michelle Mortensen and Assemblywoman Victoria Seaman. His fourth quarter total also eclipses the $51,700 he raised from July through September.

Education advocate and philanthropist Susie Lee, a Democratic, reported raising $385,000 in her bid for the 3rd District, and ended the year with more than $600,000 on hand.

The candidates are running to replace Democrat Jacky Rosen, who is vacating her 3rd District seat after one term to run for Republican Sen. Dean Heller’s Senate seat in 2018. She beat Republican businessman Danny Tarkanian for the seat by about 1.3 percentage points in 2016.
