On Thursday, the Democratic National Committee asked a federal appeals court to deny an appeal filed in a nearly yearlong legal case brought by state and national Republicans seeking to end Nevada's practice of accepting mail ballots as many as four days after an election, as long as they were postmarked by Election Day. 

The change marks an important symbolic victory for the Nevada GOP, less than three months after winning a presidential election in the Silver State for the first time since 2004.

Donald Trump's campaign and other GOP groups have filed a lawsuit alleging that Nevada fails to remove noncitizens from its voter rolls — Republicans' fourth lawsuit challenging the state's electoral procedures this year. 

If voters pass the measure, Nevada would become the third state to implement statewide ranked-choice voting, after Maine and Alaska.

The decision marks the third legal defeat for the RNC and the Trump campaign this election cycle.

Judge Cristina Silva ruled that the Republican National Committee and Nevada GOP lacked standing to file the lawsuit, but will allow for an amended complaint to be re-filed with the court.

A Nevada Independent analysis found that the four locations are closed and now host other businesses.

A top-ranking Nevada Republican has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of four election observers challenging the recently passed state law making it a felony to harass election workers. 

The Nevada GOP filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the state over a 2021 law dropping its presidential caucus and establishing a presidential primary in the state.

Though heralded by proponents as a way to vastly expand the state's film industry and diversify the Southern Nevada economy, opponents were heavily critical of the amount of tax credits proposed in the bill.

The Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022 (ECRA) – the rare bill likely to pass because it already has the support of more than 10 Republicans – would revise election law to close loopholes that Trump and his allies attempted to exploit to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
