A judge has ordered that Clark County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria must allow Republican election observers to remain in polling places to watch their closure.

Judge Timothy Williams issued a temporary restraining order Tuesday saying that Gloria must not instruct his staff or other team leaders to remove poll observers from polling locations after voting ends and instead allow observers to continue to watch polling places as they are closed. The suit was filed on behalf of the Nevada Republican Party, with former Assemblyman Erv Nelson serving as the GOP’s counsel.

The order noted that all poll observers must remain in the designated observation area after polls close in accordance with state law.

In 2016, President Donald Trump’s campaign sued Clark County, alleging that some polling places were open longer than they should have been. A judge tossed the lawsuit.

People are allowed to vote if they are in line by 7 p.m., when polls close.
