New background-heavy Ford ad acknowledges past 'mistakes,' focuses on personal history

SHARE

Focus: Democratic attorney general candidate Aaron Ford

Who’s paying for it: Ford’s campaign

Size of buy: Part of an ongoing six-figure buy

When it starts: Sept. 23

Where it’s running: Reno

The gist: The ad features Ford on a park bench acknowledging that when he was young, he “made mistakes,” but turned his life around after having a child — a tacit acknowledgment of recent news reports that Ford was arrested four times as a college student in the 1990s. Ford also cites his background obtaining five college degrees and his tenure in the state Senate.

“My opponent will try to paint me as someone I am not, but I’m Aaron Ford, and I’m proud to be endorsed by firefighters and law enforcement,” he says.
