Somos PAC and LCV Victory Fund announced on Tuesday a $1 million investment in Spanish radio and television ads across Nevada focused on boosting former Vice President Joe Biden’s profile among Latino voters.

Their ad, called “Nuestra Historia” or “Our Story,” touts Biden as someone who “didn’t give up” amid “the worst economic crisis in decades.” It also promotes Biden’s on climate change, saying that the former vice president “will work with scientists to stop it.”

“Our story is a story of courage, of family, and never giving up,” the ad says, in Spanish. “And that is Joe Biden’s story.”

The ad will run in both a 30-second television version, backed by both groups, and a 60-second television and radio version paid for only by Somos PAC. The ads will run through Election Day.

The ad buy in Nevada is part of a multi-million dollar investment by Somos PAC in the final weeks of the campaign, including a field operation focused on directly contacting hundreds of thousands of Latino voters, a digital campaign and Spanish-language ad buys on radio and television.

Biden has been focused on improving his standing with Latino voters nationwide amid poll numbers showing him underperforming former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In Nevada, a September poll showed that while 62 percent of Latino registered voters in Nevada prefer Biden to 26 percent in support of Donald Trump, the president has gained ground with Latinos.

Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ first trip to Las Vegas last month specifically focused on the impact of COVID-19 on Latinos in Nevada.
