Former Vice President Joe Biden endorsed Rep. Jacky Rosen on Friday in her bid to oust Republican Dean Heller from his U.S. Senate seat in the 2018 election.

Biden — who has already weighed in on several other competitive congressional races countrywide — said in a statement that Rosen has “proven herself as a problem solver” and that she will “put aside the partisan bickering to build consensus and find solutions.” He called Rosen “tough” and said that she’s “never forgotten where she came from.”

“I’m proud to endorse Jacky Rosen’s campaign for Senate because she’s a fighter we can trust to stand up to special interests, take on the dysfunction and abuse of tax dollars in Washington, and get things done for Nevada,” Biden said. “In Congress, Jacky has worked hard to support our troops and our veterans, speak up for Dreamers, defend good-paying solar jobs, shine a light on sexual harassment in the workplace, and stand up for access to affordable health care.”

Rosen said in a statement that she is “thrilled” to have Biden’s endorsement, calling him a “tireless advocate throughout his public service for hardworking families, for fairness and equality, and for keeping America safe and secure.”

Biden endorsed education advocate and philanthropist Susie Lee in March to replace Rosen in the 3rd Congressional District, and has made several other endorsements in competitive House races, including Air Force veteran Chrissy Houlahan in Pennsylvania and former Obama administration official Andy Kim in New Jersey. He also is backing U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein from California in her re-election bid as she faces a primary challenge from state Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de León.
