Sigal Chattah blurs conflict of interest lines by continuing political activity as new U.S. attorney

Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada Sigal Chattah has yet to publicly resign her position as the state’s Republican national committeewoman and was introduced virtually at a state party meeting Saturday, potentially violating Department of Justice rules against its employees participating in political activities.

US Attorney Trutanich appoints prosecutor to lead election oversight, fraud prevention

Trutanich announced Friday that Assistant U.S. Attorney Jamie Mickelson has been appointed to serve as the District Election Officer (DEO) for the District of Nevada, a position to monitors= election procedures and take complaints from members of the public about potential voting crimes, as well as serving as a federal liaison for local election officials

Indy Q&A: U.S. Attorney Nick Trutanich on sex trafficking, marijuana and public corruption

One of the faces at the forefront of efforts against human trafficking is Nick Trutanich, U.S. attorney for the District of Nevada, whose office is tasked with investigating such cases. The Nevada Independent caught up with Trutanich at the seminar to discuss the challenges of those prosecutions, as well as his office’s priorities on marijuana enforcement and public corruption cases.
