If elected to something, I’d likely think it was the height of hilarity to take the organization I was elected to serve to court. In Washoe County there are two officials who have lawsuits against the bodies they were elected to serve.

IndyTalks: Washoe school district leaders on district challenges, Traci Davis firing

At an IndyTalks forum hosted at the Grand Sierra Resort on Wednesday, Nevada Independent editor Jon Ralston questioned Washoe County School District Board of Trustees President Katy Simon Holland and interim Superintendent Kristen McNeil on issues facing the school district, from the termination of former superintendent Traci Davis last summer to plans to reduce class sizes and its relationship with local charter schools.

Opponents of school choice programs, whether they’re direct vouchers, charter schools, or various other options, always come back to the same argument – if only we had that extra money that’s going to some other school, along with the student. That money woulda turned it all around. If that charter school hadn’t opened, we woulda been education champions.
