After Joey Gilbert election challenge, a potential schism in the state GOP

More than two weeks after a Carson City judge ruled against former Republican gubernatorial candidate and Reno-area lawyer Joey Gilbert in his bid to undo his primary loss to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Gilbert has yet to file a promised appeal of the decision to the state Supreme Court as of Monday afternoon.

Rodimer election lawsuit delayed amid 'ministerial oversight' requiring new judge

The motion was referred to Clark County District Court Chief Judge Linda Marie Bell, who issued an order requiring that the case be randomly reassigned because of an administrative oversight. Sturman was one of three judges assigned to a special pool of judges to take on emergency election-related cases, but that order expired earlier this month.

Republican congressional, state Senate candidates request new election in lawsuit alleging voter fraud

Attorneys representing Jim Marchant, the Republican congressional candidate who lost to incumbent Rep. Steven Horsford in the 2020 election, and April Becker, a Republican state Senate candidate who narrowly lost to state Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro, filed the lawsuit in Clark County District Court on Monday seeking a court-ordered new election over alleged inadequacies and voter fraud in the 2020 election process.
