Rodimer election lawsuit delayed amid ‘ministerial oversight’ requiring new judge

The motion was referred to Clark County District Court Chief Judge Linda Marie Bell, who issued an order requiring that the case be randomly reassigned because of an administrative oversight. Sturman was one of three judges assigned to a special pool of judges to take on emergency election-related cases, but that order expired earlier this month.

Judge rejects Marchant request for new election in congressional race over ‘voter fraud’ allegations

Though Marchant’s attorney, Craig Mueller, said he would be comfortable pairing the request for a new election with either a later evidentiary hearing or the transferring of computer records related to mail ballots, Sturman said she was not comfortable issuing such an order both because of jurisdictional concerns — Nevada state law has a separate process for the filing of election contest suits — and because of the basic geography of the congressional district, which spans seven counties.

Hers is at least the sixth lawsuit filed by losing Republican candidates in the past few days seeking to scrap the election results over alleged irregularities. Others were filed by state Senate candidate April Becker, congressional candidates Dan Rodimer and Jim Marchant, President Donald Trump, and former U.S. Senate candidate and conservative activist Sharron Angle.

NV Republicans file last-minute federal suit seeking stop to automated signature verification in Clark County

The six-page lawsuit, which was touted in an early-morning press conference by Trump campaign officials, claims without evidence that “irregularities have plagued the election in Clark County,” citing alleged “lax” procedures for authenticating mail ballots and claiming that more than 3,000 ineligible voters have cast a ballot. It names Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske and Clark County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria as defendants.
